Decatur’s Pickwick Belle is an authentic riverboat complete with paddle wheel and twin decks that is perfect for admiring Tennessee River's natural beauty. Point Mallard Park Decatur is home to the country’s first wave pool, Point Mallard. This family-friendly attraction features a 35-acre water area complete with kiddie pools. For those who don’t want to get wet, you can tee off on Point Mallard’s 18-hole golf course or practice swinging at the batting cages, ball fields or lighted tennis courts. C.F. Penn Hamburgers in Decatur has served slug burgers since the Great Depression. No actual slugs are involved though – slug is an old slang term for nickel. These burgers are a combination of beef and starchy filler that are deep fried and once cost only a couple of nickels. Today, a C.F. Penn burger will set you back a little over a dollar, and locals recommend getting them the way they were originally served, with mustard and onions. Even kings have dined on C.F.
