Brabo Tasting Room throws a dash of Belgian flavor into the Alexandria restaurant melting pot.

The restaurant is located next door to BRABO by Robert Wiedmaier from which it got its start, but the Tasting Room has earned a separate identity for great food and drink.

Customers claim the best way to start off your meal is to order their locally renown mussels with your choice of a classic white wine broth, a veal bolognese variety or Thai curry spices. A meats and cheese platter to complement their wine selection is also a popular appetizer choice.

For an entree, people can’t stop talking about their open-faced Reuben sandwiches or their pork belly tarts. Make sure to save room for dessert, and consider the chocolate torte with coffee whipped cream.

Alexandrians come from all over to enjoy the one-of-a-kind food and beer list while sitting by the wood-burning fire. There are no reservations, so make sure you stop by early for lunch.
