Fayetteville isn’t just a college town. Residents know it. The entrepreneurs flocking here know it. And foodies from Siloam Springs to Springdale increasingly know it, too, as area restaurateurs up their food game.

Apple Blossom Brewing Co.

Brewery: good. Food: great. Vibe: chill. Apple Blossom Brewing Co. takes the college bar and elevates it to a whole new level. The menu would be at home in any upscale eatery, with entrees ranging from linguini Alfredo to fish and chips. Visit their website and find a list of fresh baked breads and homemade desserts.

Hugo’s

Part-diner, part-pub, Hugo’s opened in 1977 and has been a local favorite ever since. Located just off the historic Fayetteville Square, the restaurant offers beers, burgers and an array of appetizers along with tempting desserts like crepes filled with mint ice cream and hot fudge, apple pie and chocolate mousse. It’s easy to see why they’ve been in business so long. Hugo’s gives people what they want.

Hammontree’s Grilled Cheese

Imagine having 15 different grilled cheese sandwiches to choose from and 26 cheese options. At Hammontree’s that dream comes true. Considered the first and only gourmet grilled cheese restaurant in the region, Hammontree’s uses local breads, sausages and even herbs and veggies. In addition to grilled cheese sandwiches, the restaurant creates homemade soups, sauces and spreads.

Pesto Café

Looking for something a little more refined, but not in the mood for something stuffy? The Pesto Café manages to be classic without being boring, which is no easy feat. It’s no surprise that this Italian restaurant’s specialty is fresh made pestos and sauces. Live music is offered every Tuesday and Thursday.

Rick’s Bakery

If you go to Rick’s Bakery and you don’t find something delicious, it’s your own fault. In addition to sugary, frosted treats like donuts, cupcakes and cookies, Rick’s provides a coffee bar along with breakfast and lunch menus. And check them out for your catering needs too. Wedding cakes are their specialty.

Mermaids

Their specialty is, you guessed it, seafood. But Mermaids also dishes out a full bar, live music and American cuisine with an Asian flair. They’ve got a great happy hour menu to suit your late-afternoon dinner and drinks needs, and a coffee and desserts menu to tempt your late-night after-party self too.

Powerhouse Seafood & Grill

Another great happy hour spot, Powerhouse Seafood & Grill features different lunch and dinner specials every day. But if you really want to see Powerhouse at its best, check out its patio on Thursday nights for Party on the Patio.Check out their website for a listing of bands appearing.
