Asheboro/Randolph County Are Well-Schooled
Lifetime learning is a tradition in Randolph County, where quality education begins at the earliest levels and continues through a growing roster of college and university programs.
Randolph Early College High School
RECHS is an high school located on the campus of Randolph Community College, and is one of 33 early college high schools in North Carolina. It currently has about 400 students in grades 9-12 who take part in a focused and rigorous plan of study. Students earn their high school diploma and up to two years of transferable college credit.
Asheboro City Schools
With 14,500 students and eight schools, as well as a five-star preschool program and an alternative learning center, Asheboro City Schools are ready to meet any child’s need. Enrollment continues to grow, but the system’s community-learning approach ensures that all Blue Comets in every grade get the time and attention they need.
Randolph County Schools
Randolph County Schools tackle a much larger population, with about 18,400 students enrolled. The large system has 31 schools, including five high schools and the Randolph Early College High School.
Randolph Community College
Many high-school graduates stay close to home for college, and small wonder with the programs and degree tracks available at Randolph Community College. RCC began operation in 1962 and is located in the geographic center of North Carolina. Besides traditional academic offerings, the college currently offers 25 vocational and technical degrees. Annual enrollment for full-time students is around 3,200, and 8,400 for continuing-education students.
University Center of Randolph County
For those who wish to continue their education but cannot leave home to pursue their chosen degree, The University Center of Randolph County stands ready to help.
Enrollees can choose from degrees in elementary education from Pfeiffer University, criminal justice from Greensboro College or business administration from Salem College. Classes are held at Randolph Community College.
