About Bedford, VA
Bedford is flanked by the Blue Ridge Mountains to the west, the James River to the northeast and Smith Mountain Lake to the south. The Peaks of Otter – twin mountain peaks that make up one of the natural features of the Blue Ridge Parkway – can be seen from just about anywhere in the city. CenterTown Bedford, the historic downtown district, is home to restaurants, art galleries, historic buildings, shops, festivals and a farmers market.
