Tyler has several interesting neighborhoods, with housing choices ranging from affordable apartments to single-family homes to spacious mansions. Here are a few highlights:

Downtown Tyler

In recent years, organizations like Heart of Tyler and the City of Tyler Main Street Program have coordinated massive rejuvenation efforts for the downtown district. Today, there are cultural attractions like Gallery Main Street, Liberty Hall and Discovery Science Place, and the district hosts major events such as the Downtown Tyler Film Festival and the Red Dirt BBQ & Music Festival.

Lakefront Living

For those who prefer being close to nature, Tyler has excellent lakefront developments. Two of the most popular are Sandy Beach located on Lake Tyler, and Eagle’s Bluff along Lake Palestine. Both lakefront neighborhoods offer residents year-round fishing, water sports, camping and hiking.

Hollytree 

One of the hottest developments in Tyler for home sales is Hollytree, located off Old Jacksonville Highway. Homes in Hollytree sell for $300,000 to $1 million, while two other popular upscale neighborhoods in Tyler are Guinn Farms and Oakbrook Estates.

The Cascades

About four miles to the west of downtown Tyler is The Cascades of Texas, a 500-acre development on the shores of Bellwood Lake. Homes vary in style from country manors to Mediterranean Tuscan to traditional Texas homesteads, and all residents have access to a championship-level golf course.

Copeland Woods

In the southern portion of Tyler is Copeland Woods, a wooded subdivision that features an urban, artistic atmosphere. Copeland Woods is an attractive neighborhood for families as well as young single professionals.

Historic Districts

Tyler showcases fine examples of many architectural styles throughout its historic areas, including the Azalea, Brick Streets, Donnybrook Duplex, East Ferguson and Short-Line districts. All are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and feature hundreds of homes dating from the mid-19th century to the mid-20th centuries.
