UPDATE: Check out our new 2023 Best Cities to Live in the U.S. list.

#96. Knoxville

The flagship campus of the University of Tennessee is in Knoxville, and UT Volunteers football games attract 100,000 fans into Neyland Stadium during autumn months. The city has a reinvigorated downtown district with several restaurants and bars, and nearly a half-dozen brewpubs are in existence. They have names like Saw Works Brewery, which features brands like Rocky Hop IPA. For Knoxville, we recommend a trip in fall to partake in a pint of the Pumpkin Spice Ale.
