Established in 1818, Bloomington is home to more than 80,000 people. It serves as the county seat of Monroe County, and is known as the “Gateway to Scenic Southern Indiana.” Bloomington features an array of outdoor opportunities, including state parks and forests, and has been classified as a Tree City for more than 20 years. In addition, the city includes Indiana University, one of the oldest and largest universities in the United States.
