Boerne, located 22 miles northwest of San Antonio in the foothills of the Texas Hill Country, offers small-town charm, historic architecture and beautiful natural surroundings. The city is named for Ludwig Borne, who inspired many families to leave Germany and settle in Boerne in the 1840s. The Cibolo Creek and Nature Center boasts four distinct ecosystems within its 100 acres, including a riparian forest, a live oak savannah, a tall-grass prairie and a spring-fed marsh.
