Brandon Lowe

Brandon Lowe is a freelance journalist based in Los Angeles, California. As a general interest writer, Lowe has covered a range of topics over the course of his career, including news, business, government, the arts, and sports. Lowe was born in Thomaston, Ga., where his goal of becoming a print journalist took root in 1999 at the age of 16 when he began working as a staff writer for his hometown newspaper, The Thomaston Times. Lowe went on to graduate from The Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia with degrees in Magazines and History. As a journalism student, Lowe received a Hearst Journalism Award for Feature Writing for an article entitled "The Toccoa Falls Flood," which published in Georgia Backroads magazine in 2004. From 2007 through 2009, Lowe worked full-time as a freelance journalist in Knoxville, Tenn., where he produced a steady stream of newspaper and magazine articles about Knoxville and the East Tennessee region. In addition to his work in journalism, Lowe has also worked as a project manager for A3 Creative Group, a Knoxville-based education communications firm focusing on custom publications and communications planning. Also while in Knoxville, Lowe served as an adjunct journalism instructor at the University of Tennessee's journalism program in 2009. In January 2010, Lowe moved from Tennessee to continue his freelance journalism career in Los Angeles. He currently resides in Venice Beach.
