Science Center for Kids in Carbondale, IL

 Bring you little Einsteins to The Science Center in Carbondale, IL for some educational fun.

The Science Center is a hands-on children's museum offering interactive exhibits that let kids experience fundamental principals of science. The target audience age is 3-13, but parents tend to join in the exploring and have fun too. The center is located inside the University Mall.

Among the most popular exhibits are: the Dinosaur Exhibit with books, puzzles, video and dinosaur figurines; the Creation Station, where children can build a castle, dig up bones in a sandpit, assemble a train or design simple machines with gears and cogs; the Flight Simulator, which lets little ones test their piloting skills; and the Science Center Garden, where a variety of plants are grown.

The Science Center is open Wednesday, Thursday & Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $3.50 per child (infants and chaperones are FREE).
