Carmel, IN Food Overview
Bub’s Burgers and Ice Cream in downtown is home to the Big Ugly Burger, and locals seem to think it’s pretty tasty. The iconic restaurant attracts locals and visitors with not only its burgers, like the Big Ugly and the Elk Burger, but for its fun-filled atmosphere.
If you’re more of a hot dog enthusiast, select from a Vienna sausage dog or classic chili cheese dog at Zacky’s Hot Dogs. Other offerings such as ribs, veggie burgers, mac-n-cheese, and sweet potato fries are listed on the menu, too.
For a more upscale dining experience, Indianapolis’s Pizzology serves locals authentic Italian Pizza and a risotto of the day.
Swap Indianapolis fine Italian for Indianapolis fine French at Cafe Patachou. Choose from classic favorites, such as the omelet of the day and tuna nicoise, or quirky twists like banana nut coffee.
Carmel has lots of bars and pubs to relax in while enjoying the city. Brockway Public House Pub pours a good pint and whips up a proper shepherd’s pie. The pub also often hosts live music in its Irish quarters, which are good to enjoy with friends or to unwind to with co-workers. Old Town Tavern is another good place to unwind, where you can grab a drink and play billiard games.
Coworkers also meet up at Carmel’s own Woody’s Library Restaurant and bar. Bring your date or come with friends to the renovated Carnegie Library, and enjoy a pasta dish or vegetarian pot pie while sipping on a dry rose.
Lastly, Muldoon’s is a don’t-miss pub that hosts fun events like trivia nights. The friendly bar has consecutively won the title of Best Bar in Indy, and their famous tenderloin sandwiches keep the people coming to the Art and Design District location.
Additionally, more than 50 vendors gather on Civic Square at the Carmel Farmers Market each Saturday morning. Here, you can find fresh produce and specialty cuisine items, like spinach balls and pretzels.
