Casper still has its Western roots firmly planted in the ground. Farming and raching are the main industries here, but oil and coal also are strong contributors to the economic base. Of course, with its wide-open spaces, Casper provides numerous outdoor recreational activities. Casper Mountain is only minutes away for hiking, skiing and camping. And the North Platte River and Alcova and Pathfinder reservoirs offer top-notch fishing and water recreation.
