Housing and neighborhood choices are abundant in Castle Rock, with home prices ranging from $110,000 to $1.3 million and the median price for a single-family house at about $485,000. Options range from 100 plus-year-old homes in the town’s center to new subdivision construction, and Castle Rock has more than 30 neighborhoods, such as Craig & Gould, Crystal Valley Ranch, Diamond Ridge, Downtown, The Meadows Neighborhood Company, Terrain and Timber Canyon. Mark Your Calendars for Fun Festivals

Castle Rock residents love to celebrate. Among the town’s largest festivals is Castle Rock WineFest, which brings 180 varieties of Colorado wine and a beer garden to town in mid-July. Other popular events include an Elephant Rock Cycling Festival in early June, a Castle Rock Car Show every June on Father’s Day weekend, and Colorado Artfest at Castle Rock for two days in early September. Oktoberfest occurs in late September, and a holiday Starlighting happens downtown on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

Tackle the Challenge

Open year round and ranked among the best aerial trekking courses in the U.S., Epic Sky Trek is a three-level climbing and traversing apparatus that is great for private parties and team-building adventures for groups of two to 200.  Competition levels are rated Green, Blue and Black, and participants get a lot of exercise without even knowing it. Climbing challenges include a warped wall, salmon ladder and eagles nest platform, and all ages are welcome to join the fun. In total, Epic Sky Trek has more than 110 challenging elements.

Artful Surroundings

Many public sculptures are on display throughout Castle Rock, with public art paid for by the town’s Philip S. Miller Trust Fund. No taxpayer money is used to purchase public art, and usually about $25,000 per year is spent from the fund. Castle Rock currently has nearly 20 statues on public display, with a few of the most popular being Castle Rock Gateway by Barbara Grygutis, Fire Dances the Shadows by Joshua Weiner, and The Bird in All of Us by Scott Mohr.

Past Perfect Treasures

Several antique shops are in Castle Rock, with most places stocked with large inventories at fair prices. Choices include The Emporium, Alexander’s General Store, Castle Pine Antiques, Different Drummer Antiques, Honeywood Home and The Barn Antiques & Specialty Shops, which has a large selection of clothes, jewelry, books and furniture. Another hot spot is Castle Rock Consignment, where buyers and sellers deal in everything from antiques and vintage clothing to home décor, gifts and garden items.
