Chamber Celebrates Chesterfield’s Assets

It's an exciting time to live, work and play in Chesterfield

By Kevin Litwin on December 14, 2016

The Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2016, and the growing organization now has an impressive 650 chamber members in 2017.

“We are a growing community within close proximity of St. Louis, but our city certainly has an identity of its own,” says Nora Amato, executive director of the Chesterfield Chamber of Commerce. “For example, we are a key regional hub for shopping thanks to our three major malls – St. Louis Premium Outlets, Taubman Prestige Outlets and Chesterfield Mall, which also celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2016. Those three malls attract shoppers from hours away.”

Amato adds that Chesterfield has many other quality-of-life assets in place, including top-quality health-care options and excellent educational choices.

“For health-care needs, we are lucky to have a 493-bed St. Luke’s Hospital and its many specialty clinics serving patients throughout the region,” she says. “Meanwhile, our local education advantages include the high-ranking Parkway and Rockwood school districts along with excellent private schools, as well as Maryville University.”

More Quality of Life Luxuries

Amato adds that the Chesterfield chamber works well with St. Louis County officials for the good of the entire region, and a robust economy is thriving as a result.

“Our area really wasn’t affected much by the recent economic downturn, so we continued to grow and are still growing today,” she says. “We have good leadership people in Chesterfield who get involved in the community. In fact, several leaders in education, health care, manufacturing and government are chamber board members.”

Amato points out that other quality-of-life luxuries in and near Chesterfield include the many parks and trails, Edmund Babler Memorial State Park, Chesterfield Amphitheater and a good transportation system highlighted by Interstates 64 and 70, along with the Spirit of St. Louis Airport.

“We have more and more businesses calling us looking to locate here. For instance, a Rock & Brews restaurant opened in January 2017, which is associated with the Kiss band,” she says. “We also have a state-of-the-art Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex that often hosts regional sports tournaments and features solar panels over its bleachers to power all the lighting on the fields. It’s another reason why it is an exciting and interesting time to live, work and play in Chesterfield.”
