Danbury, located in southwestern Connecticut, has a thriving arts and entertainment scene thanks to a number of museums, history havens and the downtown district known as CityCenter. In addition to convenient proximity to the nearby Hartford and New York City, Danbury has a growing economy anchored by corporate headquarters such as Ethan Allen and Scholastic Library Publishing. The city of nearly 80,000 is also home to two campuses of Western Connecticut University, one of which includes a 33-acre nature preserve.
