Del Rio, a city of approximately 38,000 people is largely defined by its proximity to Mexico, allowing residents, commerce and tourists convenient border access. Its year-round warm temperatures attract many long-term winter visitors and Lake Amistad and Amistad National Recreation Area offer year-round recreation.
