No Coral Gables attraction is more famous than the Venetian Pool. This man-made oasis opened in 1924 and has attracted guests of all walks of life since it was founded.

For a low fee, visitors can enjoy the many novelties the Venetian Pool offers. The pool features two waterfalls and several cave-like grottos for swimmers’ enjoyment, and the tropical vegetation enhances the experience, along with a bridge across the waters. The pool’s large lookout towers also allow swimmers to overlook the city of Coral Gables.

The Mediterranean-style pool was created by the city’s founder, George Merrick and is the only pool on the National Register of Historic Places. It has undergone two historical renovations since its opening but maintains its original atmosphere.

The pool’s 820,000 gallons of water are drained and refilled daily for guests' convenience and health.
