Slather on the sunscreen and head outdoors, because there is no better way to spend your time in St. Augustine than out enjoying the rays of sunshine. The St. Augustine beaches along miles and miles of scenic coastline have many public areas for beach recreation and relaxation.

Best Beaches in St. Augustine

In the southern area of St. Johns County, Crescent Beach is located on Anastasia Island, home to a wildlife refuge. It’s one of the more picturesque, unspoiled beaches in Florida, and if you’re looking to do more than soak up the rays, there is boating, diving and fishing as well. Also across the Bridge of Lions on Anastasia Island, the family-friendly St. Augustine Beach features a playground and fishing pier. Over at North Beach, you can enjoy the calming environment and dine on fresh seafood.

Golf Courses in St. Augustine

Golfers are sure to have a field day, especially when they play the King & Bear course, designed by PGA legends Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus. The challenging course is located just minutes from the World Golf Village hub, home to the World Golf Hall of Fame. The Arthur Hills course at The Palencia Club has a gorgeous, 33,000-square-foot clubhouse in addition to its championship greens, which cover 140 acres alongside the Intracoastal Waterway and Tolomato River, including wetlands, hills and greens. And another exciting course awaits at the Royal St. Augustine Golf and Country Club, designed by well-known golf architect J. Christopher Commins. The 6,529-yard course is set through wetlands, really providing a true sanctuary to putt around. So stock up on the sun block and prepare to spend some time in the sunny outdoors – after all, there’s a reason it’s called the Sunshine State.
