Gastonia is located just west of Charlotte in the southern Piedmont area of North Carolina. Its moderate climate and natural resources provide an abundance of recreational activities for residents. Crowder’s Mountain State Park is the largest natural heritage site in the area covering more than 3,000 acres. Other noteworthy attractions include Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden and the U.S National Whitewater Center.
