Regional Academic Health Center
This center houses educational programs and support for 24 third-year and 24 fourth-year students enrolled in the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. The Regional Academic Health Center also provides a UTHSCSA residency in Internal Medicine under the sponsorship of Valley Baptist Medical Center.
Tech Prep of the Rio Grande Valley
A partnership between education and business that prepares young people for today's skilled workforce, courses of study at Tech Prep of the Rio Grande Valley include the fields of agriculture, media, business, health and engineering.
Texas State Technical College
This two-year public college teaches skills that attract big industry, and today Texas State Technical College has more than 4,600 students. It offers 30 degree programs in the fields of culinary arts, education, health and aviation mechanics industries.
The University of Texas-Pan American UTPA was established in 1927 and has awarded more than 50,000 bachelor's, 11,000 master's and 100 doctoral degrees. Enrollment at The University of Texas-Pan American is 16,000 students with a faculty and staff of 1,250.
Valley Baptist School of Vocational Nursing
The 12-month nursing program at Valley Baptist Medical Center features both classroom and clinical components. Valley Baptist School of Vocational Nursing graduates are prepared to take the state licensing exam; the program's pass rate is almost always 100 percent.
Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District
A total of 18 elementary, five middle and five high schools make up the Harlingen CISD, one of those high schools being Early College High School. Students at ECHS take a full high school course load plus some college courses, and by graduation have enough college credits for an associate degree.
