Restored Lincoln Theatre Gives a Peek into the Past

The Lincoln Theatre has been around since 1921, and today it looks much like it did in the Roaring Twenties. It opened with four acts of vaudeville and a silent movie, and a Wurlitzer organ was installed in 1927 to accompany silent films. It was eventually removed from the theater once the silent film era died in the early 1930s. However, current owner Richard Wright has restored the Lincoln over the years, and a new organ was installed and dedicated in 1996. It is now played for all special event shows as well as every Friday and Saturday before the feature film airs in the main auditorium.
