Whether stepping on the ice at the OAK Orthopedic Sports Arena or swimming at Splash Valley Aquatic Park‚ playing ball at a Kankakee Valley Parks' ball field or checking out Exploration Station children's museum, families find plenty of action in the Valley.

OAK Orthopedic Sports Arena offers hockey and skating classes and leagues. It also houses the Kankakee Community College Fitness Center.

Splash Valley Aquatic Park boasts three water slides, a four-lane lap pool‚ two zero-depth entry pools, plus picnic pavilions and a sand play area.

On dry land‚ the Kankakee Valley Park District maintains 33 parks with top-notch ball fields‚ where National Softball Association and Baseball Players Association adult slow-pitch‚ girls’ fast-pitch and boys baseball tournaments are held on weekends from April through October.

In the Bourbonnais Township Park District‚ families and schoolchildren make frequent stops at Exploration Station‚ a 10‚000-square-foot children’s museum where young visitors can shop in a grocery store‚ visit a medical clinic‚ post office‚ dental office or vet clinic and climb aboard a fire engine or farm tractor. The museum also has seasonal and special exhibits.
