Entertainment and Events One of the biggest attractions in Carmel is the Center for Performing Arts on City Center Drive. The multimillion dollar center has three stages for local theater, music and dance performances. The Carmel Community Players also puts on productions at the Carmel Community Playhouse at Clay Terrace.
The Carmel Arts and Design District is the Midwest’s prime arts and design center and attracts visitors from all around the region. Located downtown, the area is includes galleries, boutiques and restaurants, in addition to the Center for the Arts.
Soho Cafe & Gallery fuses a quaint cafe and an art gallery into one stop. Located a few minutes from the Monon Trail and the Arts & Design District, the cafe is within proximity of some of Carmel’s biggest draws.
Independent Restaurants Bub’s Burgers and Ice Cream in downtown is home to the Big Ugly Burger, and locals seem to think it’s pretty tasty. The iconic restaurant attracts locals and visitors with not only its burgers, like the Big Ugly and the Elk Burger, but for its fun-filled atmosphere. Monon Trail The Monon Trail is a popular recreation trail that attracts people from around the area to bike, jog and spend time with the family in nature. It is part of the Rails-to-Trails movement, which takes retired railroad tracks and turns them into trails. The trail begins Indianapolis and runs through Carlisle to nearby Westfield.

Notably, the District Exchange on East Main Street is an organized consignment shop with don’t-miss bargains for kids, teens and adults.
