Thai Pavilion at Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, WI

For about 60 years, the Olbrich Botanical Gardens have enchanted Madison residents with a unique mixture of influences from all over the world. The sala, or pavillion, from Thailand is the only one in the contiguous United States and is surrounded by Thai sculptures. The Sunken Garden is an example of a traditional English garden, and the Rose Garden features more than 700 varieties of flowers.

The Bolz Conservatory on the property is a greenhouse bursting with almost 800 tropical and subtropical plants. From the middle of July to mid August, the conservatory is filled with free-flying butterflies for Olbrich’s Blooming Butterflies event, creating an ecosystem for visitors to enjoy.

Olbrich Botanical Gardens are not only educational and family-friendly, but they're cost-effective as well. The outdoor gardens are free, and it’s $2 for folks over five (children younger than five are free); special events may increase the price of admission.
