If golf is your bag, Marshfield has a couple of nice golf courses that are challenging and scenic, and both are public facilities. Here is some background:
Marshfield Country Club
This public course was designed by noted golf architect Joe Sturm and opened as a nine-course facility in 1922, then added nine more holes in 1974.
Marshfield Country Club plays 6,042 yards as a par 70 from the blue tees at its longest, and 5,139 yards from the red tees at its shortest. The course has built a reputation for having greens that are true and smooth, yet they are also a good test. Recent renovations to the clubhouse include the MCC Grille, which serves food and beverages, and a new deck.
River Edge Golf Course
The 18-hole
River Edge course features 6,514 yards of golf from the longest tees, for a par of 72. The popular golfing destination opened in 1930 and is known for its scenic setting overlooking the Yellow River. River Edge also has a driving range, pro shop, bar and grill, twilight and early-bird golf specials, and a Friday evening seafood buffet from 5-9 p.m.
