Patrick Henry Community College keeps Martinsville residents at the top of the class. The two-year college has been educating the area in a range of academics for over 40 years.

The college offers courses in 60 fields of study, and students have multiple four-year colleges to choose from should they later decide to transfer, including Old Dominion University, Virginia Tech, University of Virginia and many more.

PHCC boasts an impressive student/faculty ration of 1:16, and has educated over 30,000 people since opening its doors. Along with its main campus in Martinsville, the college includes four off-site locations: Virginia Motorsports Technology Center, the School of Craft and Design Artisan Center, and sites in both Franklin County and Patrick County.

Students at PHCC have the option of earning either a two-year degree, a one-year certificate, or a career studies certificate. When they're not working hard at whichever path they've chosen, PHCC's Student Activities Office offers all kinds of clubs and organizations to keep them occupied, including intramural sports, a fitness club, drama club and motorsport club.

The college's current top five majors are general studies, nursing, practical nursing, nurse aide training and business administration.
