Blue Springs, MO Don’t Miss Attraction: Fall Fun Festival

When autumn arrives in Blue Springs, locals love to celebrate. The city’s Fall Fun Festival welcomes the changing season with a weekend packed with family-friendly events.

The festival begins with a parade, the biggest in eastern Jackson County. About 20,000 people come to witness the event, which is complete with floats and school marching bands.

After the parade, attendees can enjoy a carnival, petting zoo and children’s area to keep little ones occupied. Fall Fun Festival is also a great opportunity for concerts – two stages are set up for headlining bands, local acts and a karaoke contest.

Dogs don’t have to stay at home during the festivities. The Dock Dogs competition has dogs leap across an almost 30,000 gallon pool, vying to win a prize for their jumping skills. Categories of jump include big air and extreme vertical, and any dog, no matter the breed or size, can try to win.

Like any fair, the food is a can't-miss part of the fun. More than 200 vendors sell everything from classic funnel cakes to a barbecue sundae with pulled pork, baked beans and coleslaw acting as the ice cream and toppings.
