If there’s a heart of tennis in Mississippi, it’s undoubtedly Ridgeland.

The city owns the Ridgeland Tennis Center, one of the largest public tennis centers in the Southeast. Boasting 17 hard courts (all of which are lighted) and a massive 2,000-square-foot viewing porch, the tennis center meets the needs of tennis enthusiasts of all ages and abilities.

Many of the area’s netters actually learn the game at the center. Throughout the year the center’s five teaching pros offer lessons for both adults wanting to tone up their backhands as well as junior players just starting out on the courts.

All the instructors are professionally certified, with group lessons available seven days a week and private lessons available by appointment. And Ridgeland’s enthusiasm for the sport is evident.

The Ridgeland Tennis Center also offers a fully stocked pro shop, where tennis lovers can find rackets, balls, clothes and a large assortment of tennis accessories to help improve their game.
Besides being popular with the local community, the Ridgeland Tennis Center has also gained statewide recognition in that it hosts more tournaments than any other in the state of Mississippi.

The Ridgeland Tennis Center is located at 201 McClellan Drive. For more information about lesson times, private lessons or to book a court, call (601) 853-2011.
