Restaurants to Try in Muskogee, OK
For a small town, Muskogee over-delivers in a lot of areas. Music scene: check. Arts and culture: check. And big-city food choices? Yeah, we’ve got those too. Here are a few delicious highlights:
This muy delicioso eatery has the same food as every other Mexican joint across the country, just fresher. And tastier. With better service. And cheaper. When you go (why haven’t you gone already?) don’t forget to save room for the flan. It’s the perfect ending to what is sure to be a great meal.
Cozy Cup Cafe
The Cozy Cup in Arrowhead Mall epitomizes the food scene in Muskogee. Everything they serve is handmade (hand “crafted” even) in small batches. The menu is both ambitious, like their Red Velvet Brownie, and comfortingly familiar, like their bagel sandwiches. They also get bonus points for showing up at tons of local food festivals around the area, and for being open till 9 p.m. for those late-night sweet tooth cravings.
For Muskogee locals in the mood for great food fast, Chow’s is a go-to spot. Make sure you start your meal out right with one of the best egg rolls in all of Muskogee County. You can’t go wrong with any of their Asian main courses either. Their slogan is right – they really do have “good food for you and your family.”
Chet's Dairy Freeze
Chet’s embraces the idea of doing a couple things, but doing them really, really well. They feed Okies hot dogs and cold treats to die for from their two Muskogee locations. Not just any hot dogs, either, but top-quality ones. Perfect with a shake or strawberry soda.
There’s a time and a place for restraint. There’s also a time and a place for (nearly) unlimited options and as many plates as you can handle. For those times, there is the buffet in all its glorious opulence. And while there are a ton of Chinese buffets in Muskogee, there is only one Pizza Inn. This pizza joint (who also does carryout and delivery) doesn’t sacrifice quality for quantity either.
