Surrounded by the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, The Grove Park Inn is the perfect place to enjoy a family vacation or romantic mountain getaway. This beautiful resort and spa, located just two miles from downtown Asheville, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and considered one of the top spa resorts in the country.

Originally constructed in 1913 with granite stones mined from Sunset Mountain, The Grove Park Inn is a stunning example of the Arts and Crafts Movement with its distinctive red clay tile roof and original Stickley and Roycroft furnishings. The lobby’s massive stone walls are adorned with quotes by famous authors such as Ralph Waldo Emerson. Elevators, which take guests to their rooms, are uniquely hidden in the fireplaces.

Today, The Grove Park Inn offers a wide variety of accommodations designed to appeal to any traveler, including the adult-only Club Floor accommodations that have spacious living areas, spa-like bathrooms with seven-jet hydro-showers, and king-size beds with custom-made mattresses. Make a reservation at the inn’s 40,000-square-foot spa for a day of pampering, or enjoy a meal in one of three restaurants that feature everything from classic Southern cuisine to sophisticated steakhouse favorites.

“This an unprecedented time in the history of The Grove Park Inn,” says Ron Morin, vice president and general manager of the inn. “This year we will celebrate our 20th anniversary of our National Gingerbread House Competition. What began as a small, local event has now grown to become one of the country’s most beloved holiday traditions.

"A much larger milestone is our centennial celebration. We thought it befitting that the gingerbread competition serve as the kickoff to a year of special events and momentous occasions as we celebrate the 100th birthday of our grand hotel in 2013.”
