It might be the picturesque surroundings. It could be the eclectic environment. Whatever the reason, visual and performing artists flock to Asheville to be inspired, and the city’s residents and visitors reap the rewards.

Art Events

Asheville’s arts festivals give residents and visitors multiple opportunities to celebrate the arts and even bring home a piece of art for themselves. The Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands brings nearly 200 craftspeople to the Folk Art Center each July and October. Shoppers will find high-quality works of clay, fiber, glass, leather, metal, paper, wood and jewelry. Art and craft collectors can hunt for high-quality treasures at the annual Village Art & Craft Fair, which attracts artists and shoppers from across the Southeast.
