If you’re considering relocating to Asheville, you probably have questions about the city, and if you’re anything like us, you’re likely turning to Google for answers. 1. How close is Asheville, NC to the Blue Ridge Parkway?

A 20-mile segment of the 469-mile Blue Ridge Parkway goes right through the city, making Asheville a favorite place for outdoor recreation enthusiasts. 3. What is the Asheville Drum Circle?

In short, it’s something you don’t want to miss. Taking place in downtown’s Pritchard Park on Friday evenings during warm-weather months, the Asheville Drum Circle is a favorite local tradition that brings the community together. Anyone can participate in the free event, and many spectators end up dancing the night away to the beat of the circle’s many drums. Due to its popularity, the drum circle is now also held in the winter inside the New Mountain music venue. The event typically begins at 6 p.m. and concludes around 9 p.m.

4. What’s the weather like in Asheville, NC?

Located in the mountains, Asheville has a temperate climate, and residents experience all four seasons. Winters are chilly, with 30.6 degrees being the average January temperature in 2014, and summers are comfortably warm as the average temperature in June, July and August was between 71 and 72 degrees in 2014. Because of its lack of severe and hazardous weather, the city was named one of America’s Safest Weather Cities by the Weather Channel in 2012.

5. Should I visit the Biltmore Estate?

Absolutely. After all, it’s on nearly every list of things to do in Asheville – surely everyone can’t be wrong about how awesome it is. Located on an 8,000-acre estate, the Biltmore is America’s largest home, and its lush landscape features gorgeous gardens, including a rose garden with more than 250 varieties. The home has a library with 10,000 volumes, a banquet hall with a 70-foot ceiling, 65 fireplaces, an indoor pool and a bowling alley. Impressive, right? Visitors can take self-guided and guided tours of the home and the grounds, and just steps away is the Biltmore’s Antler Hill Village & Winery, which offers shopping, dining, wine tastings and more.
