Sure, Jacksonville might be an outdoor paradise, but of all of the ways to kill time there on a Saturday afternoon, shopping might be one of the best. It doesn’t require bug spray; you’re pretty much guaranteed to haul in a big catch; and the only sweat you’ll break is from having to choose between the three inch heels or the four. With that in mind, here are five great places to shop-til-you-drop.

Why You’ll Fall in Love Without Downtown Jacksonville

1. Twice As Nice Flea Market & More

The Twice As Nice Flea Market is bigger than it appears. If you’re looking to step back in time while picking out a new pair of heels, or your next decoration inspiration, this shop has everything you need. While browsing through the variety of booths and vendors you’re sure to make some huge finds, from large pieces of refinished furniture to a giant abacus. Bonus: If you get hungry while browsing, the market has fresh batches of kettle corn for sale.

2. 2 Flipping Roosters Megastore

The 2 Flipping Roosters Megastore sports a spectacular selection of thrifty goodness, from antiques to modern pieces. They’re also extremely active on social media, which is a great way to check on their current offerings. They carry furniture, collectibles, vintage items, and gifts; and they buy anything from military surplus items, to gold and silver. They also provide a 30-day layaway program.

3. The Onslow County Farmer’s Market

With local produce and handcrafted items, this market is much more than the normal collection of tomatoes and things-that-shouldn’t-be-pickled. Instead they pack their parking lot with food trucks, and their market with all kinds of local goods—from the usual to the obscure. Of course they still have the produce you’re looking for, with locally grown products from farmers like Roger’s Local Honey or local products, like Pure handmade soap.

The Best Places to Live in Jacksonville

4. SoakAwayLifeTroubles (SALT) Artisan Bath & Body Creations

Located in downtown Jacksonville, this unique gift shop makes almost everything they sell from scratch. Their product line is long; and if you need something to clean, deodorize, exfoliate or moisturize, they probably sell it. They also specialize in gift boxes, and are able to combine any of their bath and body products. But you’re definitely going to want to include one of their cupcake-shaped bath bombs. Just make sure to let your loved one know that they can’t eat it! (Seriously, they’re making us hungry looking at them.)

5. Jacksonville Mall

Whether you’re looking for the newest trends, or a place to find the best deals on clothing brands, the Jacksonville Mall is worth a visit. With a recently remodeled food court and plenty of shops for every demographic—young, old, crafty or urban—this mall has something to offer even the most discerning shopaholic.
