Kinston, NC Real Estate Overview

The real estate market in Kinston is diverse in pricing and availability, with choices ranging from cozy, historical districts, neighborhoods and townhomes to more recently constructed single-family and multi-family homes.
Kinston also offers a cost of living that is substantially lower than the national average, making housing a greater bargain than in Charlottle and the Triangle markets.
Mitchelltown, located along the northwest corner of downtown Kinston, is the most active historic district in the area. The district began approximately 100 years ago, when Wayne A. Mitchell built his home on the corner of College Street and Atlantic Avenue. Now, residents in the area work to preserve the neighborhood and follow design guidelines focusing on aesthetic aspects such as wood type and shrubbery, which are laid out by Kinston's Historic District Commission.
Additional historic areas include the Queen-Gordon Streets Historic District, located downtown, the Trianon Historic District and the Hill-Grainger Historic District.
Townhomes and Condominiums
The Townhomes At Frenchman's Creek, located near the Shops of Frenchman's Creek, offer lakefront living in one-story homes. Residents can enjoy walking trails, wildlife and a variety of outdoor activities, while also living within walking distance of shopping opportunities and an easy drive from additional dining and entertainment venues.
The condominiums of Fox Run, located in the heart of Kinston on Fox Run Drive, offer spacious living and open floor plans.
Located near Kinston Country Club, the Club Pines area provides excellent neighborhoods for families to reside; it offers well-kept subdivisions, as well as convenient access to the golf course and the variety of amenities it includes.
Also ideal for families is the Hillcrest Farms subdivision, offering a small enclave of homes located near the Caswell-Neuse State Historic Site.
