Princeton, NJ Health-Care Overview

Numerous first-rate hospitals treat Princeton's bumps and bruises including Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Saint Peter's University Hospital and University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro.

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital

Founded in 1884, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is a leading academic medical center that offers 600 inpatient beds, more than 1,300 physicians and surgeons, and specialty services like cardiothoracic surgery; vascular surgery; and heart, kidney and pancreas transplantation. This hospital is the primary teaching hospital of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey's Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and it provides a level 1 trauma center, a stroke center and a neurosciences center.

Saint Peter's University Hospital

Formed in 2007, Saint Peter's University Hospital is part of a health-care and wellness network that includes Saint Peter's Foundation, the Margaret McLaughlin McCarrick Care Center and the CARES Surgicenter. Saint Peter's is a Catholic, faith-based institution that offers a full range of services to provide several types of care including emergency care, cancer care and geriatric care, to name a few.

University Medical Center of Princeton

Founded in Plainsboro in 1919, the University Medical Center of Princeton features a state-of-the-art facility and is counted among the best hospitals in America. This medical center is the cornerstone of a new medical campus that is part of a $447 million project and will feature a new hospital, medical building, education center, health and fitness center and skilled nursing facility. Among the services the medical center provides are an inpatient hospice program, an outpatient rehabilitation network and a diabetes management program.
