One of the major engines behind the Tonawandas economic redevelopment, the region's art scene offers can’t-miss culture and loads of fun. From local theater to international art to fantastic festivals, the Tonawandas have something for everyone.

Ghostlight Theatre

Founded in 1972, this 100-plus year old one-time Methodist church now serves as one of the premier homes for local theater in North Tonawanda. Every year, the resident Starry Night Theatre company produces a series of five season-specific shows ranging from original works to celebrated classics.

Long Homestead

With nearly 200 years of built-in history, Benjamin and Mary Long’s Pennsylvania Dutch-style homestead stands as a breathtaking reminder of early American craftsmanship. The exquisitely restored home, maintained by the Historical Society of the Tonawandas, is open for scheduled tours between Labor Day and November 23.

Carnegie Arts Center

Located in a century-old building, the Carnegie Arts Center now showcases some of the finest contemporary art exhibits from local to international artists. Included on the National Register of Historic Places, the Carnegie Arts Center is one of the many engines of the Tonawandas' ongoing cultural renaissance.

North Tonawanda History Museum

Offering a comprehensive history of the Tonawandas as a cultural and economic center of the early American landscape, the North Tonawanda History Museum is a must-see destination for visitors with an interest in this country’s formative decades. Open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

A Festival for Every Season

With a number of seasonal and holiday festivals, North Tonawanda offers plenty of family-friendly fun all year long. Swing by the spooky Haunted Harbor for trick or treating on the water; grab a hearty bite at the Smokin Eagles International BBQ Festival; ring in January 1 in style with pub crawls, kids’ activities, fireworks and a ball drop at New Year’s on the Canal; or indulge in culinary extravagance at the Taste of the Tonawandas in early June.

Partners in Art Gallery

Offering a multi-purpose creative space, including galleries and classes as well as a frame shop and supply store, the Partners in Art Gallery is a haven for fine arts in North Tonawanda. Open to the public Tuesday through Saturday.
