Sunset Park in Rocky Mount, NC
You won't be at a loss for how to keep the family busy at Rocky Mount's 25-acre Sunset Park. Featuring rides that make it seem like a fair instead of a park, there is so much to keep the kids entertained.
A Model G-16 miniature train has room for 36 passengers to chug around the track, and a 1920s carousel is sure to please the young at heart. A bug ride along is another fun attraction where riders sit in worm-like cars that orbit a giant apple.
For those seeking to cool off in the hot summer months, the spray ground provides a spot to stop and splash.
For the sportier set, there's plenty to keep everyone active including two lighted basketball courts, 11 lighted tennis courts, a boat ramp, a little league field and tennis backboard.
After working up an appetite, four picnic shelters and several picnic sites await you, and a concession stand is ready with popcorn and sweet frozen treats. Because of all there is to do, Sunset Park is a special place where the whole family can spend the entire day together.
