San Antonio Museum of Art Travels the World of Creativity
Experience cultures from across the globe at the San Antonio Museum of Art in San Antonio, TX.
Open since 1981, SAMA has been attracting visitors with its expansive collections and castle-style architecture for three decades.The museum’s campus spans 15 acres of downtown San Antonio and was recently connected to the relaxing San Antonio Riverwalk.
SAMA's seven permanent collections cover a range of interests from contemporary American pieces to the South's largest assortment of unique Mediterranean art.
For lovers of Latin American art, the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Latin American Art offers a 30,000 square foot wing dedicated to this genre.
SAMA also displays the South’s largest collection of Asian art in the 15,000-square-foot Lenora and Walter F. Brown Asian Art Wing. Six thousand years of history are represented in this assemblage.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy the outdoor Luby Courtyard or grab a bite to eat on the outdoor terrace of the Café des Artistes.
