San Jose's Municipal Stadium
San Jose's Municipal Stadium, or Muni Stadium as it is commonly called, is home to lots of baseball. Part-time field for the San Jose State University Spartans college baseball team, Muni Stadium is also home to the San Jose Giants, Class A affiliate of the 2010 world champion San Francisco Giants. Fans sit very close to the field at the stadium, which was constructed in 1941-42 at a cost of $80,000 and is one of the first stadiums to be built entirely of reinforced concrete. The San Jose Giants introduced their first mascot, Gigante, during the 2010 season.
