Santa Fe, NM is a Top City for Keeping New Year's Resolutions
Known for its red adobe buildings and amazing views of the Rocky Mountains, Santa Fe, NM is home to 68,000 residents and is the most culturally diverse city on our list. The city offers peace and quiet rarely found in a metropolitan area. That's good for resolution makers who are serious about a spiritual awakening or living with less stress.
Santa Fe has a rich cultural scene with many art galleries, performance venues and spicy Santa Fe cuisine serving up local favorites and sophisticated dishes. Those seeking a more intellectual crowd will find it here. More than 42 percent of residents over 25 have a bachelor's degree or higher, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. In addition, exciting developments in higher education will result in a Santa Fe Higher Education Center opening in 2013. The center is a partnership between Santa Fe Community College, University of New Mexico, New Mexico Highlands University and The Institute of American Indian Arts. The center will allow students who earn associate degrees at SFCC to complete two additional years of coursework to earn a bachelor's degree without having to leave the city. A pilot program already is under way, with 550 students working toward bachelor's degrees while the new facility is in planning and construction phases.
