Named after Spokane native and movie star, Bing Crosby, the Bing Crosby Theater contains nearly 100 years of Spokane history within its walls. Built in 1915, this movie palace was part of the golden age of film and lived through two World Wars and the Great Depression. Luckily, this theater has been refurbished and placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Bing Crosby himself performed the intermission and between movie shows at the theater in 1925. and many consider the location to be the birth of his performing career.
The theater hosts a variety of events, including music performances by Gilian Welch and comedy showcases. The theater is also available for rent, and many local organizations hosts events as well.
