Syracuse University is the heartbeat of Syracuse. The university is second in top employers for the Syracuse area and within driving distance to New York City.

Syracuse University has attracted students from all over the country since 1870. The university enrolls more than 14,000 undergraduate students and more than 5,000 students for graduate and law school. Although, the most popular major is business, students can obtain degrees in English, engineering and other fields. The ‘Cuse University has also been included in U.S. News & World Report’s Top 100 list of best value schools.

SU is well known for their championship-winning athletics program, part of NCAA Division 1 and the Big East Conference. The Big Orange men’s basketball team has won countless championships and held the national title. Their women’s basketball team and lacrosse team have also achieved championship wins.

The athletics programs offers recreational services and facilities, such as access to the ice skating rink and aerobic classes, to students, faculty, spouses and domestic partners.

Also located in Syracuse is Jesuit College, Le Moyne University and the main campus of Onondaga Community College, which is affiliated with the State University of New York.
