In honor of the 25th issue of Images Williamson County, we've compiled an interactive timeline tracing many of the major events in the county's extraordinary growth over the past quarter century. The county, named for Dr. Hugh Williamson of North Carolina, was carved from Davidson County in 1799 and continues to prosper with its historically significant downtowns, thriving businesses, excellent schools, gorgeous parks and natural areas and popular retail offerings. To explore the timeline, click on any item to read more about it and see a photo of that year's event. When you're finished, click the "X" in the upper right corner to return to the main timeline. Some items in the timeline also contain extra content, including links to stories we've published in the past.
