Camps in Williamson County offer fun, adventure and faith.
Two summer camps, Camp Marymount in Fairview and Deer Run Camps and Retreats in Thompson’s Station, give visitors a special look at Williamson County’s wild side.
Established in 1939, Camp Marymount comprises 340 acres. The camp includes 18 camper cabins, four cabins for support staff and retreats, an infirmary, an arts and crafts hut, an outdoor amphitheater, a nature center, a five-acre spring-fed lake and a dining hall.
During the summer, Marymount accommodates 70 counselors and 600 campers ranging in age from 6 to 16. Activities include horseback riding, swimming and archery, to name a few. In the off-season, the camp is available to rent as a retreat locale or team-building environment.
Deer Run Camps and Retreats is a nondenominational Christian camp and retreat founded in 1998. Deer Run, which spans 100 acres, is a member of the Christian Camp & Conference Association. The camp’s amenities include a rustic 7,000-square-foot lodge with a variety of rooms with private baths and complementary Wi-Fi access; an ample meeting and dining facility; five miles of hiking and biking trails; sports fields for activities including archery, volley ball and paintball; water-based activities, including fishing and kayaking, on Spring Valley Lake; and 14 cabins divided into two groups, two Lakeview Cabins overlooking Spring Valley Lake and 12 Cedar Point Cabins.
The Lakeview Cabins accommodate 24 campers; the Cedar Point Cabins accommodate up to 158 campers.
