Discovery Science Place in Tyler, a hands-on museum, opens kids’ minds to the wonders of science, technology and culture, providing education and entertainment together.

The museum primarily serves kids age Pre-K through middle school, but parents will enjoy the experience with them. The Discovery Science Place provides three exhibit halls packed with activities for kids to play, explore and learn.

The Joyce Buford Exhibit Hall is geared toward younger children, and allows them to take charge and explore careers within a child-sized version of everyday life. Aspiring doctors can nurture doll patients in the Neonatal Nursery, while future EMTs may give first aid at the ambulance station. Future foodies can use real scanners at the grocery store station.

The Discovery Landing exhibit offers activities that appeal more to older children. They may climb aboard a life-sized ship or shimmy into the cracks of the museums model mountain and feel the tremors of a simulated earthquake.

Visitors of all ages will enjoy the museum’s newest exhibit, the Discovery Zone, where they can create wind tubes or experience magnetic force firsthand with the magnet wall in the zone’s tinkering gallery.
