Several factors make Tyler’s economy successful, including low unemployment, affordable cost of living, a skilled workforce and low taxes. In January 2017, the city received optimistic news when highly regarded Texas-based research and analysis firm Perryman Group reported that the Tyler economy will increase by $2.6 billion over the next five years and add 12,000 new jobs.
