Outdoor activities are easy to find throughout Tyler.

Tyler is an energetic city with many outdoor recreation attractions and venues that can keep residents and visitors busy and fit year-round.

College Sports

Fans of the Tyler Junior College Apaches can view an assortment of games and matches, with the men’s teams participating in baseball, basketball, football, golf, soccer and tennis, and the women’s teams competing in basketball, golf, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball.

Golf

Keeping golfers on their tees are five courses located within the Tyler city limits. Three of the courses are private: Cascades Golf Club, a par-71 spanning 7,142 yards; Hollytree Country Club, a par-72 measuring 6,805 yards; and Willow Brook Country Club, a par-71 stretching 6,500 yards. The two public facilities are Arrowhead Golf Club (par-72, 7,200 yards) and Pine Springs Golf Course (par-72, 6,800 yards).

Baseball

Tyler hosts several major baseball tournaments such as the Texas Elite Baseball Tournament, the Texas Little League Tournament and the NJCAA Junior College World Series.

City Parks

Tyler Parks and Recreation oversees 27 parks, and some of the most visited are Bergfeld, Faulkner, Fun Forest, Lindsey, Noble E. Young, Rose Rudman and Woldert. Lindsey Park offers disc golf and a football field; Faulkner has a fishing pond; Noble E. Young features a skate ramp; Bergfeld has an amphitheater and a sprayground; Fun Forest and Woldert have swimming pools; and Rose Rudman has a walking/biking trail.

Tyler State Park

Spanning 1,000 acres just north of the city, Tyler State Park includes a 64-acre lake with a concrete boat launch ramp, a 13-mile mountain bike trail, amphitheater, premium campsites and a dining hall with full kitchen. The park has numerous hiking and biking trails of varying degrees of difficulty.

Tyler Paddle

Located at Lake Tyler Petroleum Club, Tyler Paddle is a paddleboard rental facility that opens throughout the warm-weather months. Paddleboards rent for $30 an hour, and free lessons are provided if needed. Tyler Paddle also books parties, with partygoers able to use the Petroleum Club facilities.

iJump Tyler

For fun indoors, head over to iJump Tyler and enjoy jumping on trampolines and playing SlamBall basketball. Also on site are foam pits for youngsters, trampoline dodgeball courts and three half-pipe trampolines for fun tricks. Concession stands and a parents’ lounge with free WiFi are also on the premises.
