Melonee is a native Tennessean who hails from the small town of Johnson City and graduated from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Desiring broader horizons and a dose of some serious culture shock, Melonee relocated to New York City and after six years of soaking up the city life, moved to Nashville one month before 9/11.
In addition to staff positions at The Knoxville News-Sentinel, The Tennessean and Fairchild Publications (Women’s Wear Daily), Melonee’s writings have also appeared in Runner’s World, Men’s Health, American Profile, Fitness Magazine and Triathlete Magazine.
When she isn’t writing, Melonee works as a marketing director for an audiovisual company and is an ACE-Certified Group Fitness instructor in Franklin, Tenn. She enjoys kicking around town with her husband and three-year-old daughter, cycling, live music, the beach, margaritas, football and pretty much anything outdoors. She always kicks her shoes off under her desk and dreams of one day opening her own surf shop.
