Victor Valley Offers High-Quality Living Options
A young family might want a house in Hesperia, close to work. A retired couple new to the High Desert opts for a new condo in Victorville. And in Apple Valley, a young professional is looking at apartments.
Whatever their place in life, Victor Valley residents and newcomers are spoiled for choice when it comes to how, and where, to live.
Adelanto
What was originally to be a master planned community in 1915 became the foundation for Adelanto. San Bernardino County’s smallest city when it incorporated in 1970, Adelanto’s average home price of $80,500 helps homeowners keep budgets small as well.
Apple Valley
In the town of Apple Valley, the median home price is around $125,000 and many new residents are drawn by jobs in the new industrial parks surrounding the Apple Valley Airport. In addition to more traditional homes, Apple Valley offers equestrian estates and a 1,400-acre retirement community with a wide range of senior housing options.
Hesperia
Hesperia’s rich past includes Spanish settlers, the Mojave Indians and travelers on the Mormon Trail, all of which has resulted in a rich architectural landscape with home prices averaging $121,000. Hesperia’s newer neighborhoods include multiple amenity-loaded subdivisions, as well as custom-built villas overlooking Hesperia Lake.
Joshua Tree
And for rural living it’s hard to beat Joshua Tree, the gateway community to the western entrance of the Joshua Tree National Park. Houses average around $159,000 here, but with that comes an 800,000-square-foot wilderness preserve practically in your backyard.
Victorville
In Victorville the median home price is about $300,000, well below other similarly sized cities in Southern California. Single-family homes mingle with condos and apartments throughout the city’s many older neighborhoods, while upscale areas like Eagle Ranch and Spring Valley Lake also give residents plenty of choice.
